Vicks VapoRub - Bet you didn't know...

The active ingredients in Vicks VapoRub are camphor, eucalyptus oil, and menthol. The powerful vapors emitted by these ingredients relieve congestion and coughing. Inactive ingredients include cedar leaf oil, special petrolatum, nutmeg oil, turpentine oil, and thymol.
If you suffer from dry, cracked heels, there is hope! Rub a little VapoRub on your heels at night and then wrap them in super soft socks to seal in its amazing moisturizing abilities. Your heels will feel like a baby's in no time.

Studies have found thymol, an ingredient in VapoRub is effective at treating toenail fungus. Wash your feet thoroughly and dry them. Apply VapoRub to the affected toenails, getting into all the nooks and crannies, and apply under the nail if possible. Wrap the nail in a band-aid and keep it clean. It might take anywhere from 10 days to six weeks to cure the fungus, so repeat the process with your doctor's advice until the fungus is gone.

Whether you're changing Jr.'s diaper or taking out the trash, there are a lot of stinky jobs where we wish we could just hold our breaths and hope for the best. Put a little VapoRub under your nostrils (but be careful not to get it inside your nose!). The strong and distinctive smell is actually pretty effective at blocking odors we'd rather not experience.

Apply a small amount of VapoRub for fuller, softer lips. VapoRub contains menthol, which is a natural lip plumper. Since it is also made from Vaseline (petroleum jelly), it will soften your lips too. Be careful to not apply this to chapped or cracked lips, as the menthol can irritate them.

Some people suggest the use of Vicks VapoRub for hemorrhoids. It shrinks the hemorrhoids and relieves itching. Clean the area and apply Vicks directly to the hemorrhoids. Side effects may include a burning sensation.
Place some Vicks VapoRub on chapped lips to soothe discomfort and soften the lips. Be careful to not ingest the VapoRub. It is for external use only.
If you have a headache, VapoRub may be the cure. Dab a little Vicks VapoRub on your temples, or forehead, for headache relief. Do not place it near your eyes.
Cure dandruff by rinsing your hair in a mixture of Vicks VapoRub and mineral oil. Let sit and shampoo out.
Place a little VapoRub on bug bites. It will relieve the pain or itch.
Rub Vicks VapoRub on the bottoms of your feet and then put on socks. This should cure nighttime coughing.
For mild earaches place VapoRub on a cotton ball and put it in your ear to reduce the pain (be careful — it should just sit gently in the cup of your ear. Don't push it into the ear canal!). VapoRub will not treat an earache, but it will at least make the pain a little bit more manageable.
